Why I'm Running

After more than two decades working directly in Colusa County schools, Chuck Wayman has had the opportunity to see the education system from every level — from the classroom to countywide leadership. That experience has provided a clear understanding of what is working well, where gaps exist, and where continued growth is needed.
Serving as the current Colusa County Superintendent of Schools, Chuck understands that lasting progress does not come from quick fixes. It comes from strong relationships, consistent leadership, and a clear focus on what best supports students. He believes the County Office of Education should always serve as a partner and resource to the four local districts, working alongside district leaders to address needs in practical, thoughtful ways.

Chuck is running to continue strengthening those partnerships, supporting educators, and expanding opportunities for students and families — while maintaining stability, trust, and accountability across the county. His leadership approach is grounded in listening, carefully analyzing each situation, and making sound decisions that keep students at the center.
Colusa County is home. It is where Chuck was raised, where his children attend local schools, and where he has dedicated his career. He is running to continue serving the community with consistency, collaboration, and leadership, and to ensure every decision is guided by doing what’s right for kids.
